We passed this ferry that was just like ours.

Since I had never ridden a ferry before I was quite interested in how they packed in the cars and how the ferry docked and unloaded.

This is our first closeup view of Salt Spring Island. What a cute little church.
How would it be to have your own private boat dock in your back yard.

Now we are on the island
This is the same church we saw at a distance.

This is one of the little roadside stands where people sell their home made jams, cookies, eggs, vegetables and whatever. This was a very dry summer, which was good in many ways, but unfortunately the island was not as green as it usually is.

But still very pretty

We saw an art class painting an old barn at a farm.

In town there was a fair that day and they have a market every Saturday with all kinds of booths
with all sorts of crafts and art.

I thought this budding little artist was so cute. I can't see children without thinking of our beautiful grandchildren.

I don't understand how the tide works, but we seem to be at low tide wherever we go.

Our group minus Elder Jones. I will give names later.

You know how I love water and boats.

These next pictures were taken at the Branch President's house where we had a barbeque the afternoon we arrived. He had a nice home, I don't know how much it is worth, but the view off his back deck is worth a million dollars. Obviously a 5X7 can't begin to catch the beauty of this.

This is our group: left to right Elder & Sister Jones, Sisters Hancock &Wyndley who work in the employment center, Us, Elder & Sister Boehmer and their investigator Charlene, President & Sister Tilleman & Sarah, the branch president President & Sister Gibbon.

This is a picture of their church building. They are so pleased to have it. Before this was built about 10 years ago they had to take a ferry ride to Duncan on Vancouver island. We told you the the chapel has no pews, just padded folding chairs which they take up for activities. It is laid out so it can be added on to in the back if they ever need to. But that might be a while since they only get about 25 or so out to sacrament meeting. The branch isn't much larger than that.
